Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Fundamental Training (60 Hours)
What to expect from our week long Lomi Lomi Fundamental Training:
The format will be a 7 day intensive covering Lomi Fundamentals Training and Lomi 'ili (hot stone therapy). We teach a style of lomi lomi developed by Native Hawaiians including Aunty Margaret Machado, Mahilani Poe Poe, Maka’ala Yates and many others. Lomi Hoomana follows in the lineage of Big Island Style Lomi which is very therapeutic, specific work for addressing injury. It is structural lomi incorporating concepts of Hawaiian spirituality, meditation techniques, and indigenous values.Fundamental training covers a full body technique. Ho'oponopono (Hawaiian philosophy of spiritual alignment), history of lomi lomi, and ancestral teachings. Mid-week, we embark on an excursion touring sacred energetic sites on the island. On this tour we will be learning about plant medicine, ritual cleansing both at the mountain and the ocean visiting sacred Heiau (Hawaiian Temples). The last 3 days we continue to integrate our lomi techniques while implementing the use of heated stones. In this style of hot stone therapy, hot stones are used as working tools on the body and are an extension of our hands. We go to a peaceful agricultural valley on the east side where we learn to gather stones ceremonially with a gathering chant. This allows us the incredible opportunity to give back to the community we are gathering from by working in the taro patch there.
Accommodations:
We do offer optional accommodations. There are kitchens in all of the rooms, so you can all cook together if you wish. You will need to arrange your arrival for the day before class begins. So, Thursday would be the appropriate arrival day and return flights should be booked for the day after class ends.List of items to bring:
· a sheet set for use during classes· comfortable clothing
· a set of long pants and a long sleeve shirt for cool mornings
· a set of clothing that you don't mind getting dirty in the taro patch
· whatever oil/lotion you like to use for massage
· journal to write in
· bathing suit, sunscreen, hat
· an open heart.
The cost for the week long courses are $1250 (includes tax).
We do have accommodations available for $50 per night and a $30 cleaning fee plus tax.
Cancellation Policy:
If for any reason you need to cancel, a 15% fee of the deposited amount will be charged and the remaining portion fully refunded.Cancellation three weeks before instruction begins, 50% will be refunded or charged.
There is limited space in each class to nurture individualized instruction.
